The actor who played the baby in Good Luck Charlie has just started 9th grade – yes, really – and fans of the show can’t help but feel ‘officially old’.
Mia Talerico starred as the titular Charlie Duncan in the popular Disney sitcom, which ran from 2010 to 2014 and spanned four seasons.
Set in Denver, Colorado, the show followed the Duncan family as they adjusted to the arrival of their fourth child, with the three eldest kids roped in to help raise their little sister.

Each episode was formatted in the style of a video diary, which second-eldest child Teddy (Bridgit Mendler) makes for her little sister in the hopes that her advice can help her as she grows older – with each entry ending with the message: “Good luck Charlie.”
Even if you’ve not ever watched the series, you’ll at least know Charlie’s face from the meme:
We may have seen Charlie grow up into a toddler over the course of the programme's four-year run, but now, in the briefest blink of an eye, it seems its namesake has grown into a fully-fledged teenager.

Yep, Talerico, now 14, is hitting high school, and her fans are frankly not ready for it.
Posting a photo on Instagram, the actor wrote: “First day of school.”
She added hashtags including #classof2027 and #jetlagisreal - the latter a reference to her recent trip abroad to Paris.

The chalkboard Talerico was holding in the photo showed she started 9th grade of high school on 21 August.
“Omg I feel so old [crying emoji],” one person commented.
Someone else added: “Welp. I’m officially old. Good luck Charlie... er... Mia!”
Back in 2020, the cast of the show reunited for a virtual celebration marking the 10th anniversary of its first episode.

At the time, Talerico said: "I probably had a really easy role 'cause I just got told most of my lines or didn't have any.
"I think it was really easy because most of the time, it was what happened. We just rolled with it, like, in the crawling scene, I just stood up so we just went with it."
After her time as part of the Duncan family came to an end, Talerico featured in Brat TV series Mani, and has more recently featured in an episode of a show called Conrad.

She’s also due to star in a forthcoming movie American Summer, which is currently in pre-production.
