Yasmin Finney will be starring in the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who and has her sights set on becoming the first transgender superhero.
A new era is dawning for Doctor Who with the return of original 'New Who' showrunner Russell T Davies, the casting of new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa and the announcement of Heartstopper star Yasmin Finney as new character Rose for the 60th anniversary special.
There's been plenty of speculation over Finney's character, some fans reckon she's an alternate universe version of Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), the first companion Davies introduced on the show.

Others think her full name is Rose Temple-Noble, meaning she'll be the daughter of former Doctor Who companion Donna (Catherine Tate).
If she ends up being a companion, Finney will be the first trans companion to step into the TARDIS on the popular science fiction show.
She also wants to break other boundaries by becoming the first trans Bond girl and first trans superhero.

Finney told the Daily Mail one of her career goals is to play a trans superhero and suggested she'd already got some Hollywood interest on the table.
She said: "I'd love to be a superhero. I don't want to pick between Marvel and DC and limit my possibilities but definitely a superhero, like the first trans superhero ever.
"I can't get into it but yeah there are things in the pipeline."
The DC show Supergirl has already featured transgender hero Nia Nal (Nicole Maines), so the 18-year-old will have to aim for being the first trans superhero on the cinema screen.

Finney is still in with a great chance of doing just that given that the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of stopping and DC's superhero movies keep plodding on too.
While she could be donning cape and cowl as a superhero in the years to come, Finney also dreams of becoming the first ever openly transgender Bond girl.
She told the Daily Star she'd 'love to be that cool, sexy Bond girl' as she's such a huge fan of the long running series of spy movies.

The actor said it would be 'amazing' to step into the world of James Bond and do something that 'has never been done before'.
She said she was inspired by Caroline Cossey, who appeared in For Your Eyes Only alongside Roger Moore, but was not openly trans at the time the film was released, being outed following its release.
The Doctor Who 60th anniversary special starring Yasmin Finney is due to release in 2023.
