Elizabeth Olsen has said she finds filming Marvel movies 'embarrassing' - which is fair enough when you think she spends all day firing imaginary energy beams from her hands.
The actor, who plays Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, has been a key player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) ever since her first appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Her character Wanda has gone on to appear in five other MCU films - most recently in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - as well as her own limited television series WandaVision.

But, despite being well-acquainted with the Marvel and its operations at this stage, Elizabeth still finds it awkward filming certain scenes.
"It’s very embarrassing shooting those kinds of things, because, like, the world depends on you doing it," she told Variety.
The actor was talking specifically about the devastating death of Vision (Paul Bettany) in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War.

She continued: "Once it was over, it was a huge amount of relief. And I just remember being giggly the rest of the day, while [Josh] Brolin [who plays Thanos] had his helmet on.
"And I don’t know. These movies are very silly, but you have to act your ass off for them to work."
Asked why she was embarrassed shooting Vision's death scene, Elizabeth explained: "Because you're like - Ugh, I’m doing this in public.
"But you have one hand out that’s stopping something with energy. And then you’ve got another hand that’s extracting this fake thing from this dotted face. And it’s painful and emotional."

That's not to say that Elizabeth doesn't take the job seriously. In fact, the actor has said that the silliness of it all only makes the editing and special effects that much more impressive.
"I always wish that one day they just release a version of the film without any special effects," she said. "Because then you understand how ridiculous it feels. And how spectacular the work is that goes into making these."
So, despite her embarrassment, there's no fear of Elizabeth dropping out of the MCU any time soon.

In fact, after appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this year - as the villain, no less - the actor hinted that fans haven't seen the last of her, and that there could a redemption arc for Wanda yet.
For a hot minute, it looked like Wanda might have kicked the bucket in the Doctor Strange sequel, when she sacrificed herself to destroy the Darkhold
"I don't think any of these characters are ever really gone. Especially when you introduce the Multiverse to multiply all of our bodies and different other universes," she teased in a Variety interview.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige also seems to have hinted at the possibility of Wanda returning for future MCU projects.
"There really is so much more to explore," he said. "We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics."
So fear not, Wanda stans. It sounds like Elizabeth has plenty more embarrassing scenes to film.
