Warning: Contains spoilers for House of the Dragon
With the latest season of House of the Dragon well and truly here, fans have flocked to social media to discuss a shocking theory.
Season two has been a long time coming for Game of Thrones fans, and it certainly hasn't disappointed so far.
Viewers were gripped by the latest episode of HOTD - potentially the most intense so far, as Aemond and Vhagar wreaked havoc in an epic dragon sequence.

But it wasn't all dragons and fighting, as the episode also proved to be a notably embarrassing one for King Aegon Targaryen, played by Tom Glynn-Carney.
However, many eagle-eyed viewers have since had their say on a theory that may just change the GOT universe as we know it.
One of the wildest theories doing the rounds right now is that Daemon Targaryen actually ends up being the Night King in Game of Thrones.

Yes, the idea may seem pretty far-fetched - but many GOT and HOTD viewers on social media have put forward a good case for it.
The Night King is of course the biggest bad guy out there, as the leader of the White Walkers.
The group of undead's main goal is to kill every human as their threat to Westeros grows as GOT goes on.
We know that the Night King used to be a mortal man but we are never actually told who he is.

Because of the mystery surrounding Daemon's death in House of the Dragon, many fans have theorised he could be the Night King.
Social media users have pointed out similarities between the two characters on how they look, and maybe that's because they are one of the same.
One X user wrote: "I just read a theory about Daemon being the Night King and I don’t want to unsee it now. It would be a perfect way for everything to come full circle. I hope somehow that ends up being true lol."

While another added: "Daemon being The Night King would be a pretty insane plot twist."
And a third commented: "Why I feel like Daemon becomes the Night King eventually."
In the House of the Dragon books, Daemon is killed during an intense dragon battle with Aemond.
After stabbing Aemond through the eye, Daemon falls off a dragon and into a lake but his body is never found.

Well, fans think the deliberate mystery of Daemon's body never being found could mean he is taken into the forest and turned into the Night King.
When the Night King rides a dragon, he immediately seems at ease and confident with it - just like Daemon - coincidence?
