House of the Dragon has wasted no time in delivering some classic Game of Thrones nudity, with fans stunned by former Doctor Who star Matt Smith baring all in the opening episode.
The highly anticipated Game of Thrones prequel finally arrived last night (21 August), offering fans of the long-running HBO show a chance to get stuck back into the fantasy world and, for many, the chance to regain some respect after the divisive final series.

Set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series stars Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen and Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, as well as Smith, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best and Sonoya Mizuno.
The opening episode introduced fans to a number of this series' players, but it was Smith that left fans talking. His character, Daemon Targaryen, comes across as narcissistic and violent, but it wasn't necessarily his personality that caught people's attention just minutes into the pilot.
One reaction tweet says it best: "House of dragons spoilers very NSFW... did i just see matt smith’s penis."

Indeed, Smith showed off what he was hiding underneath his Doctor Who blazer and bowtie in a scene where his character is seen having sex with Sonoya Mizuno's character Mysaria.
Fans were quick to share their thoughts and shock over the scene, with many declaring it as proof that the world of Game of Thrones is well and truly back.
"I was kinda worried house of the dragon would be too serious but a guy gets his balls chopped off and there’s an awkward doggy style sex scene, game of thrones is back baby!!!," one fan wrote.
Another commented: "Never thought I’d ever see Matt Smith having sex on television before."

Other viewers described the arrival of the scene as a 'jump scare', with one commenting: "gonna add being visually assaulted from matt smith having a sex scene to my list of war crimes that hbo has committed."
House of the Dragon appeared to start as it means to go on, with Smith previously implying he thought there might be too much sex in the first series of the prequel.
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the show, he commented: "You do find yourself asking, 'Do we need another sex scene?'. And they're like, 'Yeah, we do'."
He continued: "I guess you have to ask yourself: 'What are you doing? Are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time [we're living in]?' And I actually think it's your job to represent the books truthfully and honestly, as they were written."

Smith's raunchy scene in the pilot might have taken fans by surprise, but if Game of Thrones is anything to go by, viewers should definitely prepare to see a lot more sex in the upcoming episodes of House of the Dragon.
