The first critical reviews are in for John Wick: Chapter Four on movie aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes and, well, this is something to get excited about.
While no one had any doubt that John Wick: Chapter 4 would be amazing - early reviews had already called the film 'one of the greatest action movies ever' - the upcoming action flick has come in at 89 per cent on the Tomatometer.
That is basically a standing ovation in Rotten Tomato-land, guys.

Reviewer Ed Travis from Cinapse upped the ante on the 'greatest action movie claim', singing the movie's praise with a staggering claim: "John Wick: Chapter 4 is simply one of the greatest action films of this generation, and perhaps of all time."
Talk about a double-down.
Simon Thompson from The Playlist was also clearly impressed.

He wrote: "With this wildly satisfying world tour de force, Reeves’ Wick transcends icon status delivering the perfect bone-crunching crescendo to one of the great action franchises in cinema history."
But that wasn't the end. He added: "It’s pure gold."
Oof. Sign me up for Gold Class tickets, please.
Brent Hankins of The Lamplight Review had a charming metaphor that we will enjoy for an oolong time: "If the previous three films weren't your cup of tea, the brew served up by John Wick: Chapter 4 won't change your mind. But if you love kinetic action set in gorgeous locales, there's no one in Hollywood doing it better than Reeves and Stahelski."

Courtney Howard from Fresh Fiction had nothing but praise.
"Brawny, bold and badass, this fourth film in a scorching, searing, soaring saga for the ages brilliantly balances vested stakes with an absolutely spectacular, high octane thrill ride," she wrote.
We could go on, but we won't.
Just kidding.

There were a few reviews that dubbed the movie a stinker.
Well, sort of.
Derek Smith from Slant Magazine said: "If anything, the film proves that John Wick is doomed to further Marvelization."
Or that might not be a bad review... depends if you're a Marvel fan, really.

There were four negative reviews in total out of 35, mostly dealing with the film's gargantuan length.
And that was out of 35 critical reviews in total, so it seems the general consensus is utter awesomeness.
And, when you have positive reviews along the lines of 'every other Hollywood action movie should be ashamed of itself' (according to Jacob Hall from Slashfilm), you sort of have to take the good with the bad.
