There are a lot of shocking scenes in The Wolf of Wall Street, but Jordan Belfort's ex-wife has revealed one particular moment that was actually taken straight from real life.
Though the 2013 movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio was inspired by real-life former stockbroker Belfort, a lot of the story was dramatized for our viewing pleasure.
The film follows Belfort, played by DiCaprio, through his career in New York City and the corruption and fraud that his firm, Stratton Oakmont, became involved in.

Margot Robbie co-stars in the film as Naomi Lapaglia, who Belfort has an affair with before he divorces his wife, Teresa, and marries Naomi instead.
The character of Naomi is inspired by Nadine Macaluso - Belfort's real, now-ex-wife - and following the release of The Wolf of Wall Street Nadine shared her version of the events that inspired the film.
In one video shared on TikTok, Nadine recalled meeting Belfort for the first time - a moment that is also depicted in the movie.
In The Wolf of Wall Street, their first meeting comes as Belfort and his pals are popping pills like there’s no tomorrow.

Nadine went on to explain that this x-rated scene of their first meeting is a pretty accurate depiction of real life, saying: "So you guys have been asking how did I meet Jordan, the Wolf of Wall Street.
"Well, it's actually pretty similar to the movie. I was, I guess, 22 years old and modelling and my boyfriend at the time, said, 'You want to go to this party in Westhampton in this house on the beach?', and I was like, 'Sure.'
"And so we pulled up, and I remember walking into the house, and there were all these people acting really weird. Little did I know that they were all Quaaluded out, I had no idea."

What happened in the following moments was also reflected in the movie, though Nadine indicated that her reaction was much stronger in real life.
In the film, we see DiCaprio's Belfort going to chat up Naomi before Jonah Hill's character starts pleasuring himself in sight of everyone at the party.
Nadine recalled: "They're with their wives and they were like, just making lewd and weird comments.

"And that scene where someone actually exposes himself to me was true. And I actually got terrified by that.
"I'm 22. And I said to my boyfriend at the time, 'We have to leave this party,' and we left right away."
As for how accurate the film was as a whole, Nadine said: "I think that if you look at it through Jordan's lens it was really accurate.
"I think that if you look at it through my lens it wasn't, and that makes sense because that was actually how our marriage was."
