Kit Harington could be set to make a comeback as Jon Snow in a rumoured spin-off to Game of Thrones.
In little over two months time the first Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon will be landing on HBO, set to follow events pre-Game of Thrones about a dynastic struggle between the Targaryen rulers of Westeros set around 300 years before the story audiences have already seen.
However, it seems as though there are other plans in the pipeline for future spin-offs as Jon Snow actor Kit Harington is reportedly set to make a return as the gruff, tough warrior from the North.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, a sequel spin-off featuring Harington is in the works in which he is set to reprise his role.
Now, you have been warned - there are spoilers beyond this point for Game of Thrones.
There is plenty of scope to do more with Harington's character since he ended up alive at the conclusion of Game of Thrones.

It's a significant achievement considering both how many characters died in that show and that Jon Snow himself was offed at the climax to the show's fifth season by his Night's Watch brothers.
We last saw Jon Snow riding beyond The Wall with Tormund Giantsbane and a group of wildlings after being revealed as the true heir to the Iron Throne and killing Daenerys Targaryen, his lover and aunt.
Snow ultimately didn't end up as king, with that honour falling to his younger brother Bran, so any spin-off featuring his character would likely start in the frozen, icy wilderness he rode into at the end of the show.
Other characters who survived the climactic season of the show could also make a return in some capacity.

The Game of Thrones spin-offs have some work to do rebuilding fan support for the property after a divisive ending to the show left many viewers unsatisfied.
There were even some petitions to have the final season of the popular fantasy show rewritten with a different script.
House of the Dragon will be the first spin-off out of the gate, but HBO are planning others and believe there is life in the Game of Thrones franchise yet.

Along with Jon Snow and House of the Dragon, there are also plans to make live-action series titled The Sea Snake, Ten Thousand Ships, The Tales of Dunk and Egg, and there are rumours about a series set in slum district Flea Bottom.
A number of animated series are also rumoured to be in the works.
House of the Dragon is due to hit screens on HBO on 21 August.
