Sex Education character Lily will not be returning to the show for season four, actor Tanya Reynolds has revealed.
Reynolds, 30, has played alien-obsessed Lily Inglehart since the Netflix series premiered back in 2019 - when we first saw the swing band member determined to lose her virginity with one of her fellow students at Moordale High.
Since then, the gifted student has gone on to explore her sexuality further with her relationship with Ola, while also continuing to indulge her love for all things space and fantasy.

But it seems that’s where our journey with Lily ends, as Reynolds has confirmed her character isn’t coming back for the upcoming fourth series.
Speaking to UNILAD’s sister publication LADbible, Reynolds said she's certain the new season will be as good as ever, but revealed that Lily wouldn't be returning as her school friends head to college.
While she didn’t give too much away about the reason behind the decision, she explained: "My character's not back either.

"I was expecting people on this [promotion for new comedy] to ask that question, so I haven't really, yeah, I haven't really spoken about it yet, but Lily's not back either.
"It will be, it will be great... It will be great. There'll be lots of new characters and people will forget all about little old Lil."
And Lily isn’t the only character we won’t be seeing in the fourth instalment, which hits screens at some point this year.

Patricia Allison, who plays Ola Nyman, also revealed that she wouldn’t be making an appearance this time round.
In a recent interview with Capital Xtra, the star was asked what she could say about the new season, to which she responded: "It's really funny, I absolutely have loved being on Sex Education so, so much and playing Ola. But, unfortunately, I won't be joining the team for season four... I'm so sorry to have to break that to you guys!
"I'm just going to be doing some other little things. Some other opportunities have come up."
Allison added: "I've been doing it for three years and I've genuinely loved it."

Thankfully, Sex Education fans will soon be able to catch Reynolds in another TV show, as she’s starring in new Channel 4 comedy I Hate You, which lands next month.
It comes from the mind of Friday Night Dinner creator Robert Popper, and follows 20-something Charlie (Reynolds) and her best mate Becca (Melissa Saint) as they try to navigate life as semi-adults, pursuing bizarre romances and dealing with peculiar bosses.
