Excitingly, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is due to get a little bit bigger this summer when Deadpool 3 finally releases in theatres.
On Sunday (February 10), the first look at the MCU’s first R-rated movie dropped during the 58th edition of the Super Bowl.
The teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine aired during one of the many NFL commercial breaks and opened with Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds) celebrating his birthday with friends and family.

However, after blowing out his candles and ‘making a wish’, Wade is greeted by a knock at the door - and its only the infamous Time Variance Authority (TVA).
Now, if you skipped watching Disney+’s Loki series, then all you need to know is that these guys really like to prune multi-universal threats.
After being kidnapped and transported through a Timedoor, Wade comes face-to-face with Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) and the pair take a trip through the TVA’s endless corridors.

After seemingly being recruited by the mysterious man, Wade said: “Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever.”
After he uttered these eerie words, he can be seen suiting up before kicking the TVA agents’ ass in the snow.
After promising to change the face of the MCU as we know it, fans jumped on social media to speculate exactly what this could mean.

One user of X (formerly Twitter) believed that the previously-mentioned massacre in the snow could be hinting at Deadpool possibly saving a character from their untimely demise.
They posted a picture from the trailer and wrote: “The place from the opening scene of [Avengers] Age of Ultron.”
A second commented: “Deadpool and Wolverine saving the MCU? Quicksilver? CINEMA?”
“YOOOOOO that would be insane and that’s how we get Magneto, Wanda, Pietro mutant family together in the future #Deadpool3,” another fan hypothesised.

While a fourth fan joked: “And that’s how they reintroduce him into the MCU with no explanation why it is a different actor.”
If Deadpool & Wolverine does decide to bring Quicksilver AKA Peter Maximoff back into the MCU, then they currently have three options.
The first being to bring back Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played the lightning-fast character in the MCU first.

Or, they could pass the baton to Evan Peters, who made his first outing as Quicksilver in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Peters, 37, has already made a cameo appearance in Deadpool 2 and in 2020, he appeared in the MCU’s series WandaVision as an alternative version of Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) brother.
Of course, the third option is to cast a completely different actor in the role.
But we reckon we will have to wait until Deadpool & Wolverine hits cinemas on July 26.
