Although little is known about Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man 4 film, Tom Holland has given a major update on its production status.
The last time we saw Holland donning the red Spidey suit and kicking some multidimensional [redacted] was in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Starring Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Benedict Cumberbatch, No Way Home ended with the world forgetting who Peter Parker is, including his closest friends, and leaving audiences on a cliff-hanger regarding what comes next.
Presumably kicking off from this dilemma, Spider-Man 4 doesn't have a release date yet, but Variety did confirm in September that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton is in early talks to direct the new film. And Holland has recently confirmed that he's read a draft for the script.

Cue the excitement.
In an episode of the Rich Roll podcast released today (October 17), Holland revealed that he and Zendaya have both read a draft of the script for the fourth Spider-Man film and that the 'writers are doing a great job.'
"One of the things is that, with Marvel, your film is a small cog in a large machine," Holland shared on the film's development. "That machine has got to keep running. You have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture.

"That’s one of the challenges we’re facing. The time in which we need to get that done is a tall order but definitely achievable with the people we have working on it now.
"We have a creative and we have a pitch and a draft, which is excellent," the actor continued. "It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me.
"Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room like this is a real movie worthy of the fans' respect."

Fans already seem to be excited over Holland's updates with one user writing on Twitter: "Tom Holland talking about Spider-Man is getting me super excited [to be honest]. What he's saying sounds awesome and the fact that he's talking about Spider-Man now must mean that they're getting close to production."
Another wrote: "Spidey 4 news makes me want to cry. It's been so long."
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed that the fourth Spider-Man movie was in development in 2023, telling Entertainment Weekly: "All I will say is that we have the story."
"We have big ideas for that," he continued. "And our writers are just putting pen to paper now."
