Morgan Wallen managed to turn some heads with a rather abrupt exit from the SNL stage, and a lip reader has weighed in on what was potentially said.
Singer Morgan Wallen certainly knows how to make an exit, as he has got everyone on social media talking.
Wallen appeared on Saturday Night Live on March 29 as the musical guest, while recent Oscar winner Mikey Madison hosted the show.
Now, when the show does finally come to an end after a whole bunch of skits and bits, the cast members, host and guests tend to say goodbye to the audience and loiter around the stage talking to one another while the credits roll.
Well, not Wallen; he was out of there like a rocket after his initial goodbye to the crowd, only stopping to say something briefly to Madison without saying anything to the cast.
Morgan was off like a shot as soon as the show was over (NBC) Some of the cast members seemed to notice the odd occurrence, and viewers have taken to social media to speculate on what was said and how they reacted.
Lip reader Nicola Hicking has offered her insights. Speaking to UNILAD, on behalf of Slingo, she revealed what she believes Morgan Wallen said to Mikey Madison as well as some words spoken by the cast in the background.
On what Wallen said before leaving the stage, the lip reader revealed he said: “Thank you all so much, I had a wonderful time thank you all mwah mwah mwah.”
On Twitter one user tried to guess what SNL veteran Mikey Day was saying to a fellow cast member and concluded he said ‘That was weird’, in reference to Wallen’s sudden exit.
However, Hicking had a different theory and suggested he said: “Chatting to you was really good.”
She also reflected on what it appeared Colin Jost was saying to a cast member when the cameras shot to him. She concluded he said: “You gotta remember how he is feeling”, but this statement doesn’t really mean much without more context.
People were desperate to know what was said after Morgan's swift exit (NBC) While the lip reader’s conclusions aren’t an exact fact, it isn’t really likely we’ll know how Wallen was feeling in that momen,t but the situation was made more bizarre after a post he made on Instagram.
In a snap of an airport runway, the singer said 'get me to God's country', seemingly referring to his beloved state of Tennessee.
