Natalie Portman whispered something into Chris Hemsworth's ear during Thor: Love and Thunder and not even director Taika Waititi knows what she said.
The latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is packing out cinemas as audiences can't wait to seem more of Chris Hemsworth's Thor back in action.
This time, he's not the only one bringing the thunder as Natalie Portman's Jane Foster gets to wield the fabled hammer Mjolnir and kick some ass in the movie.
According to IGN, there's a point late on in the movie where she gets to whisper her 'perfect' new catchphrase right into his ear.

Thing is, nobody actually knows what she said besides Portman and Hemsworth, with even Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi in the dark over what she said.
Whatever she whispered is going to be kept a secret from everyone, as Portman said the scene was 'really, really fun to shoot' and there is something specific she uttered 'but I will never reveal it'.
No doubt this line will be fodder for a million different theories over what happened in the movie and what her words might mean.

Thor: Love and Thunder is Portman's first live action role in the MCU for nine years, with her previous appearance being 2013's Marvel problem child Thor: The Dark World.
She did return to provide her voice for the What If..? animated series, but fans have been wondering what happened to Jane Foster since a few lines in Thor: Ragnarok confirmed she'd dumped the god of thunder.
Hemsworth has been flush with praise for his Thor co-star, even saying it was really 'intimidating' to see Portman in costume for the first time.
While previously Jane Foster had been in more of a support role with her scientific knowledge, now she's able to be more of an action star as Portman has bulked up for the role.

Interestingly, had things gone differently it could have been an entire other Hemsworth brother she'd have whispered in the ear of, as Chris's brother Liam was almost cast as the Norse god.
The Australian actor explained that his first audition for Thor was less than stellar, and only got back in when his younger brother aced the audition but was discounted for being too young.
When the casting directors heard Liam had an older brother they invited Chris back in for another go, leading him to land the role that has put him on cinema screens all across the world.
