The parents of Brian Laundrie, who killed his fiancé Gabby Petito in 2021, have spoken out following the release of a Netflix documentary about the shocking case.
Gabby and Brian were on a road trip across the US in July 2021 in a converted Ford transit van when the trip of a lifetime turned to tragedy.
Just weeks into their trip, aspiring travel vlogger Gabby went missing, and a lengthy criminal investigation uncovered Brian was responsible for her murder.
On Monday (February 17), American Murder: Gabby Petito dropped on Netflix; a three-part docu-series that looks into the final days of the late 22-year-old.

The documentary shows previously unseen text messages, diary entries and footage from family and friends, as well as Brian's desperate attempts to cover his tracks by sending text messages between his and Gabby's phones and transferring money with a 'goodbye' note.
It also places a spotlight on Brian's parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, as police found cellphone data from Brian's phone in the days after Gabby's disappearance showed he made several frantic calls to them, including an almost hour-long talk with his mom while his dad contacted an attorney.

When Gabby's parents raised the alarm over her disappearance after failing to hear from her for several days, they learned Brian had returned to his parents' Florida home in the van without her.

When police started investigating Brian about her disappearance, he vanished and was found dead with a suicide note confessing to the murder.
Now, Brian's parents have spoken out about the Netflix series.
In an exclusive statement to the US Sun, the Laundries' attorney, Steven Bertolino, said the documentary was what the family were expecting but alleged it has 'many inaccuracies'.

"One perspective depicted as the 'truth' as seen through their lens. Similar to Republicans and Democrats fighting it out lately," he said. "Each side believes their perspective is correct. Hard to see through the lens of the other with all the noise and distrust.
"To be clear though, there were no contradictions by my clients Chris and Roberta Laundrie."
The attorney continued: "The documentary contained many inaccuracies, incorrect juxtapositions of timelines, and misstatements and omissions of fact - perhaps deliberate to capture their 'truth', perhaps due to simple error.
"We all know Brian took Gabby's life and Brian then took his own as well."

Bertolino added: "Let the parents of both Gabby and Brian mourn them in peace."
UNILAD has contacted Netflix for comment.
The couple started dating when Gabby was 20 years old, having met in 2019 as students in New York before moving to Florida.
Brian popped the question a little more than a year later.

While on their trip, the Netflix show reveals police interacted with the pair while on the road in Utah on August 12 following reports of a 'domestic violence incident'.

CCTV footage, which is the last known video footage of Gabby alive, placed the couple in a Whole Foods store in Wyoming on August 27.
The next day, Brian hiked from their campsite in Spread Creek to the Colter Bay area where he made the calls to his parents before returning to their home.
Gabby's body was found weeks later on October 20 at the campsite with an autopsy revealing she died by 'blunt-force injuries' to her head and neck and 'manual strangulation'.
Speaking to Newsnation, Nichole, Gabby’s mom, said: “I have forgiven Brian, and I know that is what Gabby would have wanted, and I’m moving forward so I can move on.
“That is my personal experience. I don’t think everyone has to forgive."
However, she said she still has issues with Brian’s parents and prefers not to say their names.
