Netflix viewers are 'disgusted' and 'crying their eyes out' over a horrifying film based on a true story, which has been dubbed 'the most disturbing movie ever'.

Subscribers to the streaming service get served up plenty of chilling true crime tales, such as unsettling new documentary Tell Them You Love Me, and they'll soon be treated to a follow-up to the Emmy award winning Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

But despite all the spine-chilling true stories on Netflix, viewers say this one is the most disturbing.

Cleveland Abduction is a 2015 crime drama TV movie for Lifetime

With it being based on a true story, the crimes played out and depicted on screen have left those who watched it utterly 'disgusted'.

One person took to X, formerly Twitter, to say: "Watching a movie called Cleveland Abduction, I'm so disgusted & disturbed by it & the fact that it's actually based on a true story makes it even more terrifying.

"How could anyone be so inhuman?"

It follows the lives of three women who were kidnapped from the streets of Cleveland, Ohio, and imprisoned by Ariel Castro in his home on Seymour Avenue, in the city's Tremont neighborhood.

In the film, single mother Michelle Knight, played by Taryn Manning, is walking to court in 2002 for the custody case of her five year-old son Joey.

She realizes that she is late and accepts a ride from acquaintance Ariel Castro (Raymond Cruz).

He then lures her inside and in consecutive years kidnaps and imprisons Amanda Berry, who has a child with him, and Gina DeJesus.

One person said: "Watching this Lifetime movie called Cleveland Abduction and crying my eyes out. This girl got kidnapped and no one looked for her. Just thought she was a runaway.

"They adopted off her kid and the adoptive parents basically told her no contact whatsoever."

And when one person asked, 'What is the most disturbing movie you've ever seen?', someone replied: "No doubt Cleveland Abduction."

So, will you be watching it?
