With the third season of Bridgerton now streaming many fans of the show will soon be left with that bereft feeling after finishing their favourite show.
All good things must come to an end, but fortunately for fans of the hit Netflix series, there are plenty of other options out there.
If you enjoy shows replete with heaving bosoms, witty exchanges at balls, and maybe even the odd pistols at dawn, then you are not short of choices.

Of course there are the many adaptations of Jane Austen's books, which alongside the Brontë sisters could be considered the first of the genre.
If you fancy something which sets the opulence of high society against class tensions in Victorian England's industrial north, a BBC adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South starring Richard Armitage might be just your cup of tea.
Or perhaps you fancy something which turns the period drama on its head, wallowing in irreverence.
If that sounds like you, than The Great, a fictionalised version of Catherine the Great's arrival at the Russian court, could be perfect.

There's nothing like showing two kings scrapping like schoolboys to make a subtle political commentary.
But one show in particular has seen recommendations for those looking for their Bridgerton fix elsewhere.
The BBC show sees a man returning home to England after fighting in the American Revolutionary War, and his trials as he takes ownership of his estate in Cornwall.

This is of course the series Poldark.
Needless to say the show is full of scheming, local balls, feuds, and terrifying legal battles as the hot-headed former soldier rebuilds his life at home.
And this being Cornwall there are also plenty of shots of the cast staring broodingly or anxiously at the sea from the top of cliffs, or riding horses across the cliffs.

Things don't go well for the titular character when he returns home from the war to find that his father has died and his estate is in ruins.
Now, the indomitable Poldark must rebuild his life.
Based on a series of novels by Winston Graham, the show stars Aiden Turner in the lead role alongside Eleanor Tomlinson.
It ran between 2015 and 2019 for five seasons, so there's plenty there to get your teeth into while you wait for the next instalment of Bridgerton to drop.

If that sounds like your cup of tea, look no further.
Poldark is available to stream on Netflix.
