It's followed by a '10/10' British thriller series and a dark comedy starring Lisa Kudrow - proving there really isn't much appetite for jolly Christmas shows at the minute.
Having released on December 12, the new TV series centers around a family vacationing on one of Spain's popular Canary Islands.
Hoping to catch some winter sun, their break is upended when scientists discover worrying activity from a nearby volcano.

The synopsis explains: "If the volcano erupts, a mountain mass the size of Manhattan might erupt into the sea and cause the largest tsunami the world has ever seen.
"Will the family manage to escape the disaster of ash, gas and lava in a fight for their lives?"
Anders Baasmo Christiansen, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Westworld), Alma Günther, Bernard Storm Lager, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Meg) and Jorge de Juan star in the highly watched series, titled La Palma.

Taking to X, fans shared how they binged their way through the 'amazing' series in just one evening.

While the verdict from Rotten Tomatoes critics is still out, reviewers praised La Palma's 'stunning visuals' and 'engaging' storytelling.
Not everyone has been raving about the four-parter, though.
Some of the characters' decisions seemingly irked viewers, as one person vented their frustration: "We’re boarding a plane to avoid a major catastrophic event and you leave us to go find some bitch you met at the pool?! This girl deserves to die I hate her so muchhhhh."

Another described it as 'pure s**t' while questioning the logistics of the disaster unfolding.
La Palma is available to stream now on Netflix.
