Netflix fans say bingeing Margot Robbie-made miniseries with 94 percent Rotten Tomatoes score is ‘worth every minute’

Critics promise the TV show 'more than lives up' to its hype

Netflix subscribers are still raving over a Margot Robbie-produced miniseries with a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, almost four years on from its release.

The streamer is packed with plenty of binge-worthy miniseries, many of which have been lauded by fans - like this 'heart-wrenching but powerful' drama starring Apple Cider Vinegar's Kaitlyn Dever.

But this 10-part TV show was so popular, it became Netflix's fourth most-watched show when it dropped back in 2021.

A surge of viral TikTok videos saw the sky rocket back into Netflix's top 10 in May 2023, 18 months later.

The series was co-produced by Barbie's Margot Robbie and stars The Substance's Margaret Qualley - quite the line-up!

And if that's not enough to convince you, then Rotten Tomatoes critics have rated it an impressive 94 percent, with one promising it 'more than lives up to the hype'.

The series is called Maid and follows Alex (Qualley), a young, single mom trying to piece her life together after leaving her abusive boyfriend and baby dad, Sean (Melissa and Joey's Nick Robinson).

Signing up to a cleaning agency to make ends meet, she juggles work alongside her own dysfunctional family and the red tape of government assistance - all while keeping sight of her dream to attend college and become a writer.

You can watch its trailer below:

Adding to Alex's complicated life is her complex relationship with her erratic and unreliable mom - who is actually played by Qualley's own mother, Hollywood actress Andie MacDowell. What a fun little Easter egg that is!

As mentioned earlier on, Rotten Tomatoes critics loved Maid, with their consensus praising the series' 'great care' in dealing with sensitive subjects that makes it 'not always easy to watch, but undeniably powerful'.

Qualley's 'outstanding performance' is also highlighted - something viewers agree with.

One critic added: "Gritty, raw, almost painful in places, this Netflix series more than lives up to the hype."

A second wrote: "Maid deals with the hardship of female poverty with a straight approach, and always centred through the experiences of this sympathetic character that you want to root for."

New-found fans are still only just discovering Maid in 2025, as one recent viewer wrote: "Great story line, amazing acting... Every minute of this is worth watching."

A second agreed: "This is one of those series where you feel as if you're in the show, you feel every up and down with Alex... This show might be difficult to watch, but it is just done beautifully. 10/10."

Maid is available to stream now on Netflix.
