If you're a Netflix subscriber, chances are you've heard of a new show called No Good Deed.

Starring Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano and a host of other Hollywood stars, the dark comedy debuted on December 12.

It's already hit the number two spot on Netflix's TV charts in the US - and Dead To Me fans will be delighted to know it stars Linda Cardellini and is directed by Liz Feldman.

The eight-episode series tells the story of three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems.

As they battle it out to secure the house, their deep, dark secrets begin to surface. Intriguing, right?

You can watch the trailer below:

The series was actually inspired by Feldman's own house hunting experiences during the pandemic.

She told Entertainment Weekly: "We saw over 50 houses, and every time we walked into a new house, there was some deep and really intriguing story behind each family. I realized every house has its secrets."

And so it makes sense that the real star of the show is the stunning Los Angeles home on 500 Derby Drive, located in the hillside neighbourhood of Los Feliz.

Feldman gave major props to location manager Stephenson Crossley for 'finding the kind of house that anybody would want.'

Speaking to Netflix, she said of the location: "I just loved it. I wanted to keep looking at it. I wanted to go inside it.

"It was a pretty easy 'yes'. It's just such a sweet house that promises a lot of love and warmth - but also some potential surprises."

While the show was in fact shot in LA, the real home used in the show's exterior shots is a 20-minute drive from Los Feliz itself, in Hancock Park.

The area is described as a 'historic and affluent' neighbourhood - and all you need to do is have a quick snoop on Zillow to get a sense of that...

At the time of writing, properties for sale in Hancock Park are valued between $750k for a one-bed, one-bath condo up to $13 million for a seven-bed, seven-bath mansion spanning 7,543 foot.

The latter looks even better than anything I could've ever designed on The Sims.

So yes, you'd need to be earning some serious money to afford to live here.

Not to spoil the illusion, but No Good Deed's interior shots were filmed on a set - and not inside the actual Hancock Park house.

But Feldman said of the importance of having a property at the heart of her show: "Ultimately, there's no more important thing in life than your home.

"And it's beyond aspirational. It's survival...It really brings out the most primal parts of us that even surprise ourselves."

No Good Deed is available to stream now on Netflix.
