Netflix has released a new biographical drama series about the life of one of the most famous porn stars in the world.
The series is loosely based on the life of Rocco Siffredi, known as the 'godfather of rough sex'.
If you don't know who that is, a quick google of his name will tell you all you need to know. Just don't do it at work, or in public.

Over the course of his career Siffredi has starred in more than 1,300 adult films, ranging from 1986's Belle d'Amour to the marginally less subtle Rocco's Perverted Secretaries 3, released in 2022.
Now 59, Siffredi has slowed down a bit, though still takes a role in production and behind the scenes.
Not only that, but he is the subject of Netflix's latest highly provocative series.

Siffredi is played by Italian actor Alessandro Borghi in the series, which has already been called the 'most explicit' show on Netflix.
Director Francesca Manieri brought some artistically ambitious aims to the project, which certainly doesn't shy away from the racier aspects.

Speaking about the series, titled Supersex, Manieri described how she had wanted to 'deep dive [into] the core of masculinity'.

She told The Independent: “My goal was to put men in front of themselves. This is what we call the phallocentric system, the system in which the d*ck is the centrum of the thought before everything."
She added: "How can men put themselves in front of the image of their symbolic d*ck and try to deconstruct all of this?”
As for Siffredi himself, he might be one of the most prolific pornstars out there, but made it clear that people should think very carefully before deciding to embark on a porn career.
He said: “Think three times, maybe four or five, before you choose to do something like this.

“I [was] born to do this, but so many people think, ‘Oh, come on – I go, I make money, I become famous.’ It is not like this.”
The series has been met with mixed reactions, with some questioning whether the series lets Siffredi off the hook too lightly due to his participation in 'rough' scenes.
Addressing these scenes, Siffredi said that these are always filmed in partnership with his co-star, telling the Berlin film festival: "We talk and we decide whether to do certain types of scenes."

Whatever your opinions, a biographical drama about a pornstar certainly opens up a lot of questions about society's dysfunctional relationship with the industry, something which has only been complicated by the internet and the ease of access it brings.
Supersex is available to stream on Netflix.
