The thriller isn't only directed by the legendary David Fincher - think Gone Girl, The Zodiac and Fight Club - but stars none other than Michael Fassbender (The Light Between Oceans), Tilda Swinton (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) and Arliss Howard (The Lost World: Jurassic Park).
The official Netflix synopsis reads: "After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal."
Since the film's release on Netflix last Friday (10 November), many have flocked to social media sites and forums to sing its praises.

While many are saying The Killer is great overall, there is one particular fight scene that many have pointed out as a highlight.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, film critic Dan Marcus penned: "THE KILLER had the best fight scene of the year. The sound of every excruciating punch shook my theater, eliciting gasps from my crowd."
The scene is certainly impressive, as two of the main characters fight it out, with the audience hearing every punch and kick.
There is no questioning that we've seen a lot an awful of fight scenes in films over the years, though many seem to be pointing this specific one in The Killer out.

"Loved the minute camera shake when there’s a real hard impact. Really noticeable on a large screen," another remarked on X.
While someone else added: "So methodically crafted."
And a third wrote: "The build-up to this fight was nothing short of perfection."

Overall, The Killer has been loved by fans and critics alike, sitting at an impressive 86 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Oliver Jones, from The Observer, penned: "The film is a veritable tone poem on the nature of work in the modern world. The Killer is a simultaneously hollow and profound meditation on the numerous ways identity has been swallowed up and voided by the various demands of commerce and brand."
While CNN'S Brian Lowry quipped: "The Killer has an old-fashioned feel and still manages to nail its target by bringing dashes of freshness, wit and unpredictability to this well-worn genre."
The Killer is streaming on Netflix right now.
