Viewers admitted they struggled to finish heart-wrenching series despite it being brilliant.

Netflix can often have a lot of duds on the streaming platform, but if you know where to look, you can find some absolute gems.

However, not every brilliant TV series leaves you in a happy and joyous mood, some leave you frustrated, heartbroken and even speechless.

One series Netflix viewers have been discussing essentially captures all of these emotions by its conclusion.

“Sometimes a movie is so powerful….you can only watch it once ...This series had me teary eyed at the end great series overall loved it 10/10,” the poster wrote earlier in June.

Many social media users commented their own praise for the series, while also admitting how difficult it was to watch it through to the end due to the subject matter.

“I couldn’t get through it, but I said I would go back and watch it completely one day,” one user wrote.

“Can’t forget till today though, it’s been over three years since I watched it,” another commented.

“It will forever and I mean forever haunt me. Harrowing is not even near [to] the way it makes you feel,” a third wrote.

“To find out this was true after watching it just broke my heart even more. I just cant believe how they did these young boys. They are so strong,” added another.

“Yea this whole story made me mad… then watching the [show] broke my heart!!!” a fifth person chimed in.

For those assuming they are overacting it is certainly worth giving it a watch yourself, the series When They See Us focusses on and highlights a very recent miscarriage of justice in New York.

When They See Us is a crime drama miniseries which follows the events of the Central Park jogger case from 1989, during which five Black and Latino males were falsely accused and prosecuted for raping and assaulting a white woman in New York City.

In the real world, those involved filed a suit against the city for wrongful conviction and were eventually awarded a settlement back in 2014.

When it was released in 2019, the show was very well received 71 nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards and the show also won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Limited Series.
