Netflix fans binge 'near perfect' Pedro Pascal series given 97% rating as actor wraps Avengers Doomsday filming

The show tops fans' re-watch list

Fans are binge-watching an acclaimed Pedro Pascal series with a 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

He may have broken our hearts in The Last of Us, but the actor (almost) made up for it when he returned to the big screen this summer debuting as Mr Fantastic in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Naturally, the Chilean-American actor is already booked and busy (when is he not these days!?) with another project having just wrapped.

This week, Pascal finished up filming for Avengers: Doomsday alongside his Fantasic Four screen mates, including Sue Storm actress Vanessa Kirby.

Deadline reported: "Fantastic Four kicked off the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Pascal recently wrapped production on the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, which will premiere in 2026. Also in 2026, Pedro will reprise his role as Din Djarin in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu."

But if you simply can't get enough of the actor - and who can blame you? - then you might want to add this binge-worthy Netflix series to your watch list.

Across 30 episodes, the drama chronicles the dizzying rise and devastating fall of drug cartels in Colombia.

More specifically, it re-tells the life of Pablo Escobar, the infamous leader of the Medellín Cartel, examining how he ran his criminal empire and faced off with law enforcement.

A creative mix of dramatization and real-life archive footage are used to tell the story, often narrated from the perspective of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents working to bring down the cartels.

Wagner Moura plays hardened drug lord Escobar, while Pascal is Javier Peña, an increasingly disillusioned DEA agent.

Of course, if you hadn't already guessed, we're talking about Netflix original Narcos.

Across all three seasons, the show has racked up an almost flawless Rotten Tomatoes score of 95 percent from fans.

And despite debuting in 2015, some viewers are only just getting involved. Better late than never, I suppose!

One, who'd only just watched the first series less than three weeks ago, gave their verdict: "Season 1 is a gripping, gritty dive into the rise of Pablo Escobar and the reign of terror he inflicted upon Columbia.

"The narration and real life footage is used to great effect and helps give it a documentary feel. Worth watching."

A second newcomer agreed it was a 'fascinating story well told,' as somebody else admitted: "I've rewatched this show several times. Awesome."

Another fan labeled it 'damn near perfect'.

But it's Narcos' third instalment that seems to have impressed the most, with critics rating it an impressive 97 percent - the highest of the lot.

"Narcos continues to evolve in its third season, drawing on historical details to take viewers on a thoroughly gripping -- and unsettlingly timely -- journey into darkness," they said in their consensus.

Narcos is streaming now on Netflix.
