Fans are calling for Netflix to cancel The Witcher after many described its latest season as the 'worst ever'.
When the first season of the The Witcher dropped on the popular streaming platform back in 2019, many were excited.
The series, based on the popular video game franchise and series of books by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, had gamers excited to see their favourite video game characters in a TV series setting.

Not only gamer and book lovers, but the series also brought in a bunch of fans who hadn't even played the video games and read the books, with its sci-fi fantasy setting hooking them in.
Of course, many drew comparisons to Game of Thrones, though that was quite a juggernaut to compare it to.
Nonetheless, fans of GoT got their fantasy fix in a brand new setting as the much-loved HBO series came to an end.
While the first season had a steady start with a 68 percent Rotten Tomatoes critics' score, fans got an idea of where Netflix was going with The Witcher.

The cast, led by Henry Cavill, was dynamic and fans were beginning to love the story that was being told.
Season two is where the series came into its own, as the cast returned for eight new episodes in 2021.
According to critics, season two was a massive improvement on the first season, with the second offering sitting at an impressive 95 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

After that, fans were on an ultimate high, with many hoping for many more seasons of Cavill leading the fortress into the future.
However, last year Cavill announced he would be stepping down from playing main protagonist Geralt after season three, with Liam Hemsworth replacing him.
But with Hemsworth set to take the sword for the fourth season, fans are calling for The Witcher to be canned before even making it to the fourth offering.

On IMDb, some season three episodes garnered the lowest ratings of the show so far, with episode seven a particular low point, scoring only 4.2/10.
Things weren't any better on Rotten Tomatoes, with season three scoring just a 22 percent audience score compared to 89 percent for season one and 56 percent for season two.
Many fans have flocked to social media to give their thoughts, too - with one fan writing on Twitter: "This new season of The Witcher especially the last three episode were some the worst things I’ve ever laid eyes on."
And a second added: "Oh what a flop, The Witcher is getting cancelled right."

A third added: "Just cancel the show already it’s SHOCKINGLY bad."
But while some criticised the final few episodes, the majority are just disappointed to see that Cavill is leaving.
One more generous fan wrote: "Man, other than pacing in some spots, which I feel like is a pretty common issue with shows nowadays, Season 3 of The Witcher was amazing, it actually made the fact that Henry Cavil is leaving way worse."
