Stranger Things season five may be a while away, but trouble already appears to be brewing amongst the cast.
Winona Ryder, who stars in the show as Joyce Byers, the concerned mother whose son is taken into the upside down in season one.
Ryder, whilst promoting her newest film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, answered questions about the generational gap between her and some of her co-stars.

Across the new Tim Burton film she was promoting, in which she stars alongside the young Jenna Ortega, and Stranger Things, in which she has starred alongside the majority of the cast from the time they were 12, she has had numerous young co-stars recently.
Despite this, her comments have been perceived by many to have been a shot against Millie Bobby Brown.
Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the show, has starred in Stranger Things from the age of just 12, with the actor having turned 20 earlier this year.

Whilst discussing the differences in her young co-stars, Ryder told the Los Angeles Times she gets frustrated in their lack of interest in film.
She said: “The first thing they say is, ‘How long is it?’… I just think there was such an abundance: the history of film, the history of photography, it’s so rich, and there’s so much there, and I don’t mean we should go backwards, but I wish and I hope that the younger generation will study that”.
Whilst she never specifies which co-star, many have made the connection to an interview which has previously gone viral on Twitter.

Bobby Brown, in speaking to The Sun, said: “I don’t watch movies. People come up to me and say, ‘You should definitely watch this movie, it would change your life’.
“And I’m like, ‘How long do I have to sit there for?’ Because my brain and I don’t even like sitting for my own movies”.
The 20-year-old revealed that her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi, is a huge film buff however.

She said:
“My fiancé is the biggest movie buff. He just sits and watches movies all day. And I cannot do that.
“That is the one thing I can’t sit down and do.

“But I really love Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, I love Mad Max. So I feel like I’m always channelling that inner bad-ass.”
Whilst many have perceived this as a dig at Bobby Brown, one co-star of Ryder’s that it absolutely is not aimed at is Jenna Ortega.
The pair met whilst filming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, with Ryder revealing she ‘almost wept’ when Ortega referenced shots from Mikhail Kalatozov’s 1964 film I Am Cuba during an early scene in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
