Worst Ex Ever has taken Netflix by storm, occupying the top spot on the streamer’s charts.
The Netflix show covers four cases of people’s experiences with some of the worst ex-partners, which in all four cases are criminally evil.

This even lead many viewers to swear off dating and be traumatised by the harrowing true stories displayed in the show.
One episode, however, has stuck with fans – who have been furious at the police over their handling of it.
The second episode follows a woman called Seemona and her experience with an ex-boyfriend who carried out utterly heinous acts.

Seemona is a financial adviser and small business owner living in Queens, New York, and describes in the show meeting a man named Jerry Ramrattan.
The two began dating, with Jerry claiming to be a New York City Police officer.
Seemona said in the documentary: “He came by the restaurant. He purchased food and struck up a conversation with me.
“He was wearing a suit and he had a holster and he had a gun at his side. He told me he was a cop and a detective for the Brooklyn DA’s office."

She later would find out though that he not only wasn’t a cop of any kind, but he also had a secret wife and three children.
Despite the pair breaking up, she allowed him to stay in her basement.
Ramrattan would go on to sexually assault Seemona, with him later being charged with rape and being investigated for impersonating a police officer.

While out on bail – Ramrattan would frame Seemona for a string of robberies and engage in a ‘campaign of harassment’, which led to her arrest in 2010.
She recalled telling officers in the documentary: “If you think I did something, then he’s behind it. I didn’t do it”, before saying the police brushed this off, saying: “No, this has nothing to do with him”.
Despite protesting her innocence and providing an alibi, Seemona would be charged with multiple counts, and imprisoned for seven months due to the $1 million bail.

In this time she was separated from her 12-year-old daughter.
Though Seemona was later exonerated and Ramrattan was found guilty of rape, perjury, and tampering with a witness, viewers have been shocked by the police’s response to the case.
One fan tweeted: “The 2nd episode of Worst Ex Ever on Netflix... the police totally failed Seemona. Totally.”
Another fan went on to say in the replies: “The evidence was right there but they chose to turn a blind eye. More than half a year of her life wasted just like that."
One viewer then tweeted: “Seemona is a fighter. She had everything against her and she still kept fighting. Police was garbage.
"She lost everything on a whole lie. And the messed up part about it is that the police had evidence and just pushed it to the side.”
And a third viewer said: “Heartbroken. The story of Seemona Sumasar is literally one of the worst I've ever heard”.
In 2011, Seemona and her daughter sued Nassau County and the detectives involved in her case, and were eventually awarded $2 million.
UNILAD has contacted the NYPD and the Nassau County Police Department for comment.
