** SPOILER ALERT for Echoes **

Netflix's gripping new series, Echoes, was released over the weekend and has fast become the most-watched show on the streaming service - but not everyone is convinced.
The psychological thriller tells the story of Leni and Gina, two identical twins who have been living with a huge secret since they were kids.
Ever since they were little, the twins have swapped lives, essentially meaning they have both led a double life, sharing two husbands, careers and even a child. That is until Leni goes missing and their worlds begin to unravel.

As Netflix explain: "Identical twin sisters Leni and Gina decide to swap their lives. However, there are dire consequences when one of the twins goes missing, causing both of their lives to rapidly fall apart."
Michelle Monaghan stars as both Leni and Gina, meanwhile Matt Bomer stars as Leni's husband, Jack. Also in the cast is Daniel Sunjata as Gina’s husband, Charlie and Jonathan Tucker as Dylan James.
And while it may be the most-watched series on the platform right now, armchair critics have come out of the woodwork and have taken to Twitter to complain about the show’s plot.

One penned: "I’m halfway into the Netflix Echoes series and ngl I have no f*****g clue what’s happening and why."
"Echoes on netflix had SO much potential but the plot was dizzying and not well executed," another commented.
A third added: "I have rarely seen a series with so many plot holes as #Echoes on #netflix the writers probably think that the twists are as clever as #gonegirl or #fightclub - sorry, they are not."
Another posted: "The show is good but I have legit been confused the entire time… like what."

Meanwhile, others were left confused over which twin was which, with one writing: "Finishing #Echoes on @netflix. I can 100% say I never knew which was Gina and which was Leni. The entire season."
"My head hurts from trying to figure out who was Gina and Leni," another tweeted.
However, not all viewers were left disappointed, as some instead praised the acting performances.
A fan shared: "Finished watching the first episode of #Echoes (yes, I am taking my time). Very intriguing and mysterious, love it!

"Great acting as well. And it goes without saying that it is wonderful to see Matt [Bomer] back on the screen. Looking forward to the next episodes."
While another begged for a second series: "Just finished #Echoes on Netflix, probably one of the best shows I've seen! Season two please."
Although Echoes has courted huge viewing figures, the series has a Rotten Tomatoes critic score of just 29% and a user score of 43% - so make of that what you will.
Echoes is available to stream on Netflix now.
