And who should it star, but Top Gun's Tom Cruise, Oppenheimer's Emily Blunt and Nightcrawler's Bill Paxton.
Set in the future, the film follows a suicide mission assigned to Major William Cage (Cruise) when aliens attack Earth. Cage ends up finding himself trapped in a time loop, but works alongside Sergeant Rita Vrataski (Blunt) to improve his skills each time. The question is, will they improve enough for him to be able to defeat the threat in time?
Well, you'll have to watch the movie - titled Edge of Tomorrow - to find out, but if you wanted to get a glimpse at just how the film's team managed to create such explosive scenes to portray such a terrifying invasion? Thankfully, you have to look no further, as behind-the-scenes footage has been shared online.

Warner Brothers Pictures shared an insight into what went on on set of the movie with YouTube account ScreenSlam.
The footage shows how Cruise and Blunt performed their hair-raising stunts, whether suspended from a wire and leaping through the air or sprinting as quickly out from underneath a collapsing building.
As one YouTube user commented: "This is awesome, they used a REAL set with limited green screen and real explosions like in the good days of film."
Indeed, in a scene from the clip, multiple real explosions can be seen popping off all over a field, actors running through and members of camera crew following closely behind.

Another moment sees Blunt and Cruise attached to wires running at a ridiculously fast pace through the mud and a scene after that sees Cruise narrowly miss an actual plume of fire.
And it's not taken long for fans of the movie to flood to social media in awe of the behind-the-scenes clips.
One user said: "0:34 Wow! I would have thought the missiles flying through the air would have been CGI. I didn't realise they were practical effects! That's amazing!"

"So much done without CGI. Impressive," another added.
A third commented: "This is an awesome film, so that's why it looked so good! Not so much CGI, felt much more real."
