Jennifer Lawrence has admitted that it was ‘really really hard’ filming with Jonah Hill for the Netflix hit Don’t Look Up.

The film first hit our screens in 2021 and follows two astronomers who must warn the world of an approaching comet that could destroy Earth - with many having found some unnerving real world similarities after it's release.

However, there were some parts that were pretty tough for Lawrence to get through.

The 33-year-old actor opened up about the process of filming the dark comedy, which she and Hill star in alongside the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet and Chris Evans.

Lawrence, who plays astronomer Kate Dibiasky in the flick, explained Hill’s character, Jason Orlean, is ‘the worst’ and it was really hard to not ‘ruin’ every take when filming with Hill.

In an February interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence noted Hill’s character is not only the president’s son, but ‘also the Chief-of-Staff, which some might think is nepotism', VT reports.

Lawrence said: "It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing. We one time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me.

    "It was amazing."

The star revealed many of Hill’s lines were unscripted, and explained she thinks Hill and ‘Meryl were the only ones who should do that kind of improv,’ despite all the cast getting involved.

"I mean, he’s [Hill's] a master, he's a comedic master. I mean we all did some [improv] just not as well as Jonah," Lawrence added.

Lawrence called Hill a 'comedic master'.

One scene which didn't feature in the script shows Hill's character telling Lawrence and DiCaprio's to: "Sit tight and assess."

"The sit tight comes first then you've got to digest it, that's the assessment period," Hill says.

Lawrence reflects: "See? That wasn't in the script Jonah."

Directed by Adam McKay, the official synopsis reads: "Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth.

"The response from a distracted world: Meh."

Lawrence and DiCaprio play the role of an astronomers.

When asked what she wants viewers to take away from the film, Lawrence resolved she thinks the movie is ‘a really fun, hilarious way to laugh at ourselves’.

However, the Hunger Games star explained the ‘biggest thing’ for viewers to take away is ‘to stop handling information the way that we do now, where there’s like the truth and science and then politics, or you know, personal feelings involved'.

Lawrence said: "You know, we should all just be on the same page of, you know, taking care of our planet, and taking care of mankind.

"World peace would be my hope."
