Reddick – whose cause of death was later confirmed to be heart disease – had been in the middle of a press tour for the fourth instalment of the John Wick franchise, in which he played Charon the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York City.
His passing also came not long after filming wrapped for the TV series Percy Jackson and The Olympians, in which he stars as god of the sky Zeus.
A synopsis for the new show, which debuts with a two-episode premiere on Disney Plus on 20 December, says: “Percy Jackson and The Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.”
