Goth also heads up the slasher as the lead actor, taking on the titular role of Maxine Minx, an adult film star turned Hollywood actor who auditions for a horror in Los Angeles in 1985.
Maxine lands the role but goes back to work her second job, watched by an eerie figure in the audience. After two of her friends are killed, her world spirals and she has to fight not just to prove her innocence but also to save her own life.
The film also stars the likes of singer Halsey, The Crown star Elizabeth Debicki and Emily in Paris lead Lily Collins, alongside Leave the World Behind's Kevin Bacon.

Forcing him to strip naked at gunpoint, she makes him lie down before using her stiletto to deliver a ball-splattering blow.
"Ti West demonstrates he is the greatest horror director, considering he edits all of his films. Mia Goth pours her heart into #MaXXXine and proves why she is a star! It’s not my personal favorite of the trilogy, i think Pearl is a stronger performance but still entertaining," another fan wrote.
A fourth commented: "MaXXXine isn’t a horror movie. It’s a tribute to the sleazy, violent, shot on video films of the ‘80s. It’s got plenty of gore, violence, and mystery though. Mia Goth gives her best performance of the trilogy. Easily my favorite of the three Ti West films. #MaXXXine."
MaXXXine is showing in cinemas now.
