Actor reveals why he refuses to kiss anyone in movies or TV shows and how it's effected his career

The Desperate Housewives actor revealed there's a specific reason you won't ever see him locking lips with another actor

An actor has opened up about why they refuse to kiss anyone in movies or TV shows, and the impact their stance has had on their career.

There are multiple iconic movie and TV show kiss scenes, from Kirsten Dunst kissing Tobey Maguire as he hangs upside down as Spider-Man in the 2002 hit, to Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio's steamy scenes in Titanic.

However, there's one actor you won't be seeing getting up close and personal with any other star on film and TV anytime soon - or in their past projects either - and the Yellowstone actor has since revealed why.

You'll recognize Neal McDonough from hits such as Band of Brothers, Desperate Housewives or Suits.

However, what you might not have realized, is in every role he's played, even if playing the partner or love interest of another character, you'll never have seen McDonough locking lips with anyone else on screen.

The actor has revealed from the get-go of his acting career, he's refused to ever kiss another actor.

But why?

Well, he explained to Closer Weekly: "I won’t kiss any other woman because these lips are only for one woman."

McDonough said that he felt that under his religious beliefs, even kissing someone else for a scene in a movie would, for him, be infidelity.

McDonough and his wife, Ruvé first met on the set of Band of Brothers, with their paths first crossing in 2000 and for McDonough it was love at first sight.

The pair married in December 2003, three years after they first met, and have since had five children together.

But his refusal to perform in intimate scenes has previously proved an obstacle to his career.

Speaking to Closer Weekly, he recalled being fired from ABC series Scoundrels over his stance.

He said: "I was [surprised], and it was a horrible situation for me.

After that, I couldn’t get a job because everybody thought I was this religious zealot.

"I am very religious. I put God and family first, and me second. That’s what I live by. It was hard for a few years.”

Now, the actor has had to clarify his position ahead of time, to avoid similar incidents.

Recalling being cast in Desperate Housewives, he said: "When Marc Cherry signed me, I told him, ’You probably already know this, but I won’t kiss anyone.’

"'But this is Desperate Housewives!’ Cherry said. I told him, ’I know.’ He waited for a few seconds and then responded, ’Okay, I’ll just have to write better.’"

The actor says he feels very lucky, and is happy with his wife and family.

He said: "I’m the luckiest guy I know to have her as my partner in everything after five kids and a great life."
