Sandra Bullock wants to work with Keanu Reeves again before they die

Ahead of the 30th anniversary of Speed, Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves have revealed their hopes of working together again

Sandra Bullock has spoken out about wanting to work with Keanu Reeves again at some point during her lifetime.

The actors first worked with each other on 1994 release Speed and have yet to get behind the camera together again since The Lake House in 2006.

Speed also had monumental success, grossing a whopping $350.4 million.

Despite it being a fair few years since the pair starred alongside one another as Officer Jack Traven and Annie Porter in the 1994 hit directed by Jan de Bont, Bullock and Reeves teamed up for an interview with the 50 MPH podcast ahead of the movie's 30-year anniversary.

Bullock explained the pair nearly didn't even get to work together because she apparently 'wasn't the first choice' and wasn't even 'the second choice' nor maybe even third.

So, in the audition process she said she was 'so excited and happy to be there' ultimately 'looking for nothing' and 'just grateful and excited to be with who [she] was with'.

"I just adored and still adore Keanu," she added.

Reeves admitted he thinks the pair certainly 'had an affection' for one another, alongside the characters themselves 'having an affection' and so they both 'played off each other,' 'trusted each other' and overall it was 'just fun'.

Bullock added she 'felt very comfortable' with Reeves and they have a 'rare' kind of trust.

Speed 2: Cruise Control did happen, but Reeves turned down the role - even when offered a reported $12 million - because he didn't like the script.

And ultimately, the pair's career paths have just taken different directions, but that doesn't mean they want to keep it this way in the future.

Bullock said: "Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera. Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?"

Reeves went on to say: "It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there’s something that wasn’t done. I would love to work with you again before our eyes close."

Whether their reunion on screen will be for a third Speed, who knows, but Reeves has said he'd be down, although on one condition.
