Sarah Silverman has hit out at actors who are continuing to work despite the SAG-AFTRA and WAG strikes. Here's the video she released on her Instagram.
The actor seemed annoyed at the fact that some actors and film employees are continuing to work on projects that have been cleared or are independent films even though everyone else has gone out on strike and isnât supposed to be working.
Both the writersâ group (WAG) and the screen actors and other film employees' union (SAG-AFTRA) have joined forces to stop major studios producing films, but so far loads of independent movies and TV shows have been greenlit, with an interim agreement in place allowing some productions to keep things going despite the strike.

This obviously doesnât sit right with Silverman, who blasted the actors still working, releasing a video in which she said: âI feel f***ing pissed off, and I know I just must not be understanding something.
âThere are like 40 movies being made right now.
âMovie stars are making movies because theyâre independent movies, and SAG is allowing it because if they do sell it to streaming, it has to be because streaming is abiding by all the things weâre asking for.
âThatâs just working...the strike ends when they come to the table and we make a deal in agreement.

âSo, youâre just letting people make movies, and movie stars are making movies that you know the goal is to sell them to streaming.â
That means â she reckons â that the strike will be âexponentially prolonged, because they have movie stars making moviesâ.
Whatâs more, she believes this sort of working arrangement will bring about âthe end of the strikeâ.

She continued: âWhen SAG joined the strike, itâs, âMovie stars arenât making movies for you anymore, now what are you going to do?â
âWell, theyâre making movies. What the f***? I got offered an âindieâ movie, I f***ing said no, and so did a bunch of my friends.
âAnd now some of my friends are saying yes.
Iâm really p***ed.

âPlease, explain to me why I shouldnât be angry, because people are making real-deal sacrifices.
âPeople, writers, actors, crew people, all these people are sacrificing their livelihood for this cause.
âItâs called union strong, where we are all together.
âAnd when SAG joined the [WGA on] strike â we should see every movie star out there striking along, because you have insurance because of your union and you get residuals because of your union. All of these things you get because of your union and you canât stand with your union?â

Silverman went on to say that she couldnât work out who she is more mad at, âmovie stars making these indie movies that are obviously going to go to streamingâ or âSAG for making this interim deal for these indie movies.â
âItâs scabbing â youâve made that so clear that itâs scabbing,â she added.
âNow, all of a sudden movie stars can make movies if theyâre indie movies where they promise theyâll only sell it if X, Y and Z.
âThatâs called the end of the strike, motherf***ers!â
However, not everyone totally agreed with Silverman, who had promised sheâd take the post down if someone could âset [her] straightâ on the matter.
Zooey Deschanel came back at her, stating: âI think we are striking certain particular contractual agreements with the [AMPTP, the association of major production studios] â not all work.â
Silverman did receive some support from Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead, who commented: âOh you understand it.
âItâs scabby gaslighting and you should be mad at both as I am.â
