Selena Gomez supposedly made a 'crucial error' in her new movie Emilia Pérez.
The singer and actress is just one of the many famous faces to feature in the Spanish-language movie. The likes of Zoe Saldana and Édgar Ramírez also star, as well as Karla Sofía Gascón - who is rumored to be in line to be the first openly transgender actor to ever be nominated for an Oscar.
The film was released in the US on November 1 and has since landed on Netflix as well.
Its synopsis reads: "A Mexican lawyer is offered an unusual job to help a notorious cartel boss retire and transition into living as a woman, fulfilling a long-held desire."

Emilia Pérez has all-in-all been well received from both critics and film fans, and boasts 80 percent and 79 percent scores on Rotten Tomatoes.
Elsewhere it has garnered a 7/10 score on IMDb and 72/100 on Metacritic.
But despite people seemingly enjoying the movie, eagled-eyed viewers have spotted an apparent faux pas by Gomez, who has Mexican-American heritage, in the movie.

A short clip is doing the rounds online where the former Disney star has a The Office-like moment and makes eye contact with the camera.
Someone said: "Oops! Selena Gomez commits acting sin by looking directly at the camera in Emilia Perez."
"Guess she broke the fourth wall a bit," said another.
Others critiqued her performance all together.

"This might be the worst acting performance of the year omg," someone said, as a different person hailed her Spanish as 'god awful'.
Someone else echoed: "My God I can’t tell if my ears are bleeding from the acting or the Spanish."
Some Netflix viewers were much less critical, on the other hand.

"Even stars shine brighter after a stumble Selena’s still a gem in her craft a moment doesn’t define greatness, and she proves that every time," one person wrote.
"But someone edited the scene and chose that one, that’s not her fault," someone else pointed out of Gomez's so-called 'sin'.
Another viewer noted that other stars do it in Emilia Pérez too, writing: "I am thinking this was intentional, because multiple characters do this throughout the movie."
A third added: "Directing choice or mistake? Selena might be breaking the fourth wall on purpose for her character's depth."
