Being a stunt performer is certainly not a job for the faint of heart.
Jumping out of a plane must be a thrilling experience at the best of times - for some, even just going up in a plane is more than enough.
And surely jumping out of one without a parachute is not so much thrilling as just crazy.
But that didn't stop stunt performer Travis Pastrana from doing just that - leaping from a plane with no a parachute in sight.

As Crush the sea turtle from Finding Nemo said: "You got serious thrill issues dude, awesome."
As you may have already guessed, Travis survived the feat and has revealed the most hair-raising moment of the whole thing.
And it wasn't the actual jump.
Firstly, it's worth mentioning that he didn't jump out of the plane by himself but was surrounded by three other sky divers.

Two of them worked with him to get him to safety, while a third filmed the whole thing.
After Travis gave a big thumbs up and did some flips, the pair worked as a team to get him stable in the air so he could grab onto one of their parachutes before landing safely.
Speaking to The Guardian in 2019, he described the stunt as 'pass or fail'.

No kidding.
He said: "It was really a trust test to see whether my friends with parachutes on liked me enough to grab me in the air."
Travis may have arrived safely on the beach, but the stunt certainly landed him in hot water.
He said: "It turns out it was illegal and I got in a lot of trouble."

And what was the scariest part of the stunt?
Travis shared: "Oddly, jumping out of a plane without a parachute is not the scary bit; the clinging onto your parachute-wearing friend and hoping you don’t fall is."
Yes, you read that right. They didn't use any straps in the air, he just grabbed his friend who had a parachute and clung on for dear life.

Fortunately, they carried out the stunt successfully.
Travis also made a name for himself doing motorcycle stunts - one stunt involved doing a backflip on a motorbike across the river Thames in London.
The stunt performer was inspired to try the feat after watching fellow stunt performer Mike Metzger break his back on his attempt.
"He [Metzger] broke his back and fell in the water but it made me think: ‘Ah, could be done'." he said.
And just in case you were thinking it - don't try any of this at home.
