Wheel of Fortune fans were left unimpressed after host Pat Sajak accepted a wrong answer from a contestant.
In the episode that aired on Tuesday (17 October), contestant Nadine Cedro tried her hand at the Wheel of Fortune crossword and was given the word 'Butter' as a clue.
Nadine proceeded to give 'Fingers', 'Bean', 'Fly' and 'Nuts' as her answers - but 'Nuts' was actually incorrect.
The correct answer was in fact the singular version of the word, but Pat still accepted 'Nuts'.

Viewers with bionic hearing were quick to point out that Nadine said the plural equivalent of the right answer, and therefore should not have won the round.
"#WheelOfFortune missed the lady saying ‘nuts’ instead of ‘nut'. Pat was too quick to confirm," one fan wrote on X.
“She said ‘nuts’, not ‘nut’. Even closed captioning picked up the 's'," another fumed.
"That Nadine said nuts not nut I caught it!! No S added!” added a third.

Someone else went on: "We re-round it 3 times because our whole family heard nutS. She shouldn't have won the round."
Oops.
While Pat was criticised for allowing the contestant to win, the opposite happened earlier this year when he was accused of robbing a young woman of a $100,000 win.

Student Alexa was given '_ _ST _IN_IN_ IT' on the board as her clue and she guessed the phrase as being 'Just Winning It' - or so Pat believed.
The answer was 'Just Winging It', therefore Pat dubbed her answer wrong and she missed out on the cash prize.
But Wheel of Fortune fans were convinced Alexa actually said the correct answer and Pat misheard her.
"I’m absolutely certain that the first thing she said was ‘Just Winging It.’ You owe that young woman an apology and $100,000!" one viewer raged online.

Some disgruntled fans will be pleased to know that the current series of the show will be Pat's last as he's stepping down from the hosting gig after 40 years.
Pat made the announcement over the summer.
He said in a statement at the time: "Well, the time has come.

"I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last.
"It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months.
"Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it'll keep the clickbait sites busy!)."
Ryan Seacrest has since been announced as Pat's replacement.
