I Am Legend fans can rejoice as the movie's sequel is well underway.
The action-filled sci-fi hit cinemas back in 2007 and quickly became a cult classic for Will Smith fans.
The film took $256.4 million at the US box office, and raked in $585.4 million worldwide.
It's long been rumoured that I Am Legend is getting a sequel, with Black Panther favorite Michael B. Jordan set to star alongside Smith, who will reprise his role of Robert Neville.

But Smith returning for I Am Legend 2 may confuse some fans as (spoiler alert), his character dies in the movie.
However, those of you who picked up the DVD will know that it came with an alternative ending where Robert doesn't die after all.
Addressing the matter in a recent I Am Legend 2 update, Smith explained at one of the Red Sea Film Festival events, as per Variety: "You have to be a real I Am Legend buff to know this, but in the first, theatrical version, my character dies, but on the DVD there was an alternate version of the ending where my character lived.
"We are going with the mythology of the DVD version."

Discussing Jordan joining the cast, the 55-year-old added: "I have a call with Michael B. Jordan tomorrow. We’re really close, script just came in."
Smith further teased: "I can’t tell you anything more, but Michael B. Jordan is in."
As it stands, it's unclear what character Jordan will play.

According to reports from earlier this year, the sequel will be set decades after the events in the first movie.
Producer Akiva Goldsman previously shared: "I’m obsessed with The Last of Us, where we see the world just post-apocalypse but also after a 20-30-year lapse.
"You see how the earth reclaims the world, and there’s something beautiful in the question of, as man steps away from being the primary tenant, what happens? That will be especially visual in New York."

He added: "I don’t know if they’ll climb up to the Empire State Building, but the possibilities are endless."
Goldsman also said he'll be using the book of the same name, written by Richard Matheson, as source material.
In light of I Am Legend 2 being in the works, people have expressed their hopes that the movie might 'bring cinema back'.
"The fact that we’re getting an I Am Legend 2… cinema is coming back to us," wrote one person on X.

Another added: "Will Smith, I Am Legend 2. Cinema really making its way BACK I hope."
A release date for the film is yet to be confirmed.
