We've seen some fairly epic video game adaptations recently and it looks like the good times could keep rolling.
The TV version of The Last of Us and the film remake of The Super Mario Bros. Movie have been certified blockbusters.
So, it's no surprise that producers and directors are looking at other gaming titles to see if they could be adapted for the big or small screen.

Justice League's Zack Snyder has put his hand up to bring Gears of War to life.
He and his wife Deborah were speaking to IGN during gamescon 2023 when they were asked about what makes for a compelling gaming adaptation.
Zack told the outlet: “We’ve talked about a bunch of…Gears has always come up in our sort of circle.
"I was always interested in the Halo franchise… They of course kind of made that, but it was something I always thought could be incredible.”

Halo was, of course, made into a thrilling TV series that premiered on Prime Video.
While Gears of War has been transformed from a third-person shooter game into spin-off video game titles, a DC comic book series, seven novels, and a board game adaptation.
The original trilogy sees humans battle against the subterranean reptilian humanoid known as the Locust Horde on the Earth-like world of Sera.

It has all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster and it seems like Synder is keen to put his stamp on it.
Netflix already revealed it was making a Gears of War movie, however ever since the announcement last year there has been very little update on the matter.
The creator behind Gears of War has accepted Zack Synder's offer to direct the project, however he has one condition, and it seems like it will be fairly easy.
Cliff Bleszinski has demanded that Dave Bautista be cast as the franchise's lead star Marcus Fenix, which would be a perfectly matched role.

Thankfully, Dave has already expressed his intense desire to play Fenix.
In a 2021 interview with Collider, he revealed how he turned down an opportunity to be in a Fast and Furious film so he could pitch a Gears movie.
“I’m not putting down anything else, I’m just saying [Gears] is way more interesting to me," he said.
"I don’t want to pretend like I’m actually interested in something I’m not when there’s something I’m actually really excited about that you guys have under control.

"‘Would you consider me for that?’ I don’t think there’s any harm in that. I’m not trying to step on anybody else’s toes, I’m just saying like this is what I love and I’m seriously passionate about this. ‘I can do a good job for you guys on this.’”
