Nicole Kidman says movie that left her not wanting to 'orgasm' again is ‘most disturbing film people have ever seen’

Kidman has said a whole lot of trust was needed to film the erotic scenes

Nicole Kidman’s latest film is a rather saucy affair - and although a story she wanted to tell - has admitted that some people have found the film challenging.

The 57-year-old actress has been on our screens for decades and is certainly a name that can put butts in seats - even if she does go in a different direction.

Speaking about her upcoming film Babygirl, Kidman has emphasized how excited she was to tell the story, even if the filming process left her feeling ‘vulnerable’.

Babygirl was written and directed by Halina Reijin and stars Kidman as a married CEO who embarks on a kinky romantic affair with her much-younger intern (Harris Dickinson), behind her husband's (Antonio Banderas) back.

The raunchy nature has certainly raised some eyebrows (maybe not one to see with the whole family), but Kidman has insisted it is a story worth telling and one that is quite relatable.

Despite this, she has said that some people have called it the most ‘disturbing film they’ve ever seen'.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter she said: “A lot of times women are discarded at a certain period of their career as a sexual being. So it was really beautiful to be seen in this way. From the minute I read it, I was like, ‘Yeah, this is a voice I haven’t seen, this is a place that I haven’t been, I don’t think audiences have been.’

“There are many women who are going, ‘Well, I’ve done this, I’ve got children, I’ve got this husband, and what do I actually want? Who am I and what are my desires? Do I have to pretend to be something else for people to love me?’

“I think it’s very releasing, this film. I hope it is. I’ve had some people say it’s the most disturbing film they’ve ever seen, which I’m like, 'Oh no, I’m so sorry.'”

And it sounds like the film certainly took a lot out of the actress as she admitted there were times where she simply didn’t want to be touched anymore.

Speaking during a press conference for the film, the actress explained shooting the sex scenes left her feeling ‘ragged at times’ due to the long takes.

Speaking to the Sun, she gave even further details saying: "There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration. It's like, 'Don't touch me'.

"There were times when we were shooting where I was like, 'I don't want to orgasm anymore'.

"Don't come near me. I hate doing this. I don't care if I am never touched again in my life! I'm over it.

"It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout."

The film is set to be released in the US on Christmas Day.
