Pamela Anderson questioned rising star Mikey Madison about shooting her latest film where she plays a Russian sex worker and how she approached the role.
In what seemed like a very candid conversation, Anderson and Mikey Madison discussed their careers, ongoing projects and how they approach acting in an open and honest sit-down interview with Variety as a part of the publication's 'Actors on Actors' series.
Madison has been praised for her performance as the lead character in the film Anora, especially due to the intimate nature of the flick.
The movie focuses on Anora/Ani who is a young sex worker from Brooklyn who meets a Russian oligarch and impulsively marries him. However, when word reaches back to Russia, things are turned upside as her fairytale is threatened.

The film has been well-received by both fans and critics, and boasts a score of 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Anderson spoke about her reaction when she saw the film and admitted to having concerns for the character, however. Due to the intimate nature of some of the scenes Anderson questioned whether an intimacy coordinator was used.
She said: “When I saw Anora, I just wanted to grab you out of there and hug you. I’ve had friends in that industry as well, and I could really relate to it.

"It was so emotional. Did you have an intimacy coordinator? That’s the big thing these days, right?”
Madison explained that she actively made the choice for there not to be one on set. She also noted how she was confident in the director and herself to be able to bring out the best for the character.
Madison commented: “For our film, it was a choice that I made; the filmmakers offered me, if I wanted, an intimacy coordinator. Mark Eydelshteyn, who plays Ivan, and I decided it would be best to just keep it small.
“I think we were just able to streamline it, shoot it very quickly and there are less sex scenes, more sex shots, that is what [director] Sean Baker likes to say.

“I think there is a lot of humor involved in them as well, it was a very positive experience for me.
"My character is a sex worker, and I had seen Sean’s films and know his dedication to authenticity. I also wanted to immerse myself in that, so I was ready for it. As an actress, I approached it as a job, so I was very comfortable."
