Prime Video has officially ordered a live-action TV series of God of War.
Deadline reported that the streaming platform will release a TV adaptation of the hugely popular PlayStation game with Wheel of Time boss Rafe Judkins at the helm of production.
Academy Award nominees Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man, The Expanse) will also jump on board and will write and executive produce alongside Judkins.

Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios will serve as producers with PlayStation Productions.
For those of you who aren’t solid gamers, God of War follows Kratos, a Spartan warrior - who later becomes the Greek God of War.
He gets tricked into killing his wife and daughter during a village raid by the original God of War Ares.

Kratos sets out on a treacherous journey with his estranged son, Atreus, to fulfil his wife’s dying wish to have her ashes spread from the highest peak.
However, this sets off a series of wars in different mythological pantheons, with Kratos and Ares eventually coming face-to-face with one another.
The announcement now has fans arguing over who should be cast as Kratos.
Some have suggested Chris Pratt, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Tom Hardy, iconic WWE wrestler Triple H, Chris Judge, Dave Bautista and many others.

Stranger Things star David Harbour has previously put his hand up to play the iconic character.

And it’s safe to say they’ll have many fans flocking to the series, as God of War has been praised as one of the greatest action video games of all time.
It's even snagged a couple of accolades, including Game of the Year for its 2005 and 2018 instalments.
This year, a sequel to the 2018 instalment was also released, titled God of War: Ragnarok.

The game was praised for its storytelling and visuals while selling 5.1 million units in its first week, becoming the fastest-selling first-party game in PlayStation history.
