Stranger Things fans have noticed the eerie clang of the antique clock at key moments in previous seasons.
As the seasons go by, the show subtly suggests that the grandfather clock still has to big part to play in the plot.
It seems the clock carries a sinister significance, as it appears as a vision of Vecna’s victims before their time is up, so to speak.
As the timepiece potentially becomes more relevant, fans reckon they've heard the clock noise three times prior to season four.

As per Culture Crave, viewers reckon they've noticed it in:
1) S1E1 — When Will falls off his bike
2) S2E4 — When Hopper is in the Upside Down
3) S3E2 — When the Mind Flayer possesses Billy

One person said: "Probably means nothing just a scary sound. Coincidence, again, if they forgot Wills bday thing, they probably forgot they had clock noises in the other seasons."
To which, someone replied: "Doubt that. They don’t randomly put in clock sounds in three different seasons like that when Season 4 hits hard the tik Tok tik Tok of a clock."

Another said: "The Clock gets closer and louder each season."
A fourth commented: "Mfs been planning Vecna since S1."
Someone else shared: "It’s a shame they didn’t have the forethought to fully tease a big baddie apart from the mind flayer in past seasons. This could just br a coincidence tho."

As fans look to be enjoying the new season, there has been one small criticism labelled at the show since it started.
Because it's been nearly three years since the last season aired, the cast are finding it challenging to remain looking young enough to be in high school.
In the first season, some of the stars were only 12 – now, their ages range from 17 to 20.
In an interview with Today, 19-year-old Gaten Matarazzo (who plays Dustin Henderson) said: "It's something we're always thinking about, but it's something we work with pretty well I think.

"The characters are at transitional periods in their lives... it's crazy to see what all of us looked like when we first started."
For those who still haven't watched the series, the synopsis reads: "In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries."
