Be careful! Spoilers for the fourth season of Stranger Things are here...
Stranger Things fans are eagerly awaiting the final two episodes of season four and in the meantime, they've come up with yet another theory.
This theory suggests that 010, one of Eleven's fellow test subjects in the Hawkins lab, is none other than our dear Eddie Munson.

Take a look below:
As a new addition to the Stranger Things cast, Eddie has charmed viewers with his charismatic manner and friendly nature.
Plus he's the rock star leader of the Hellfire Club delighting our young heroes with his skills as a dungeon master, and also casually deals drugs on the side.

Sadly, Eddie spends most of his debut season of Stranger Things on the run from the law after this season's villain, Vecna - who is named for a Dungeons and Dragons monster he pits against our young heroes - kills Chrissy Cunningham in his home.
Since proving that a supernatural monster has just launched into a killing spree is hard to do, most of Hawkins assumes Eddie is the murderer and launches a manhunt for him.
As for the theory that Eddie might himself be a test subject who spent time in the Hawkins lab with Eleven, one of the key parts of the theory is him mentioning he had 'buzzed hair' when he was younger, just like the children kept under lock and key in the Hawkins lab.

Another clue fans think they've spotted is the watch Eddie always wears on his left wrist right over the spot where his tattooed number would be if he had one.
Adding to the theory is that we don't see 010's face when the rest of the test subjects are killed, suggesting he might have survived and made it out of the lab.
Plus there's the slight resemblance between Eddie and 010, which is just close enough that you could stick the theory in the 'plausible' column.
On top of all of this is his lack of surprise when he's told about Eleven and her mysterious powers, though considering he's just seen someone get killed by Vecna, at this point it's not like he wouldn't believe in the supernatural.

The last time we saw Eddie, he was rescued from the upside-down after venturing through the 'water-gate' Vecna had opened at the bottom of the lake.
Going through the gate with Steve, Nancy and Robin, Eddie helped fight off a swarm of monstrous bats trying to kill Steve.
Luckily for them the kids figure out a way to provide an escape route, though it goes wrong when Steve and Nancy remain trapped in Vecna's nightmarish realm.

However, footage of Eddie shredding his guitar in the upside down was included in the trailer for Stranger Things so it looks as though he'll have to delve into those dark depths and face off with Vecna at some point in the final two episodes.
The second volume of Stranger Things season four releases on Netflix on 1 July.
