We’ll take any chance we can get to talk about Superbad, it is, after all, a cinematic masterpiece, and we’ll fight anyone who says otherwise. (We won’t, we’ll just mutter about you under our breath once you’re out of earshot.)
As for the film’s title, it certainly does the job, seeing as the plot centres on horny teenagers, fake ID and keg chugging, but over in Spain, they really ran with the horny part when rebranding the title for the country’s audience.
When Superbad stars Jonah Hill and Michael Cera caught up to reminisce about Judd Apatow and Seth Rogan’s 2007 cult classic, Hill couldn't help but laugh as he told listeners what the film was called in Spain.

Speaking to his old pal Cera on A24’s podcast in 2019, Hill began: “[In] Spain, do you remember the poster was the funniest thing of all time?”
“They marketed it like it was a porno,” quipped Cera, while Hill added: “It was called Super Horny. Do you remember what the poster was? This story’s crazy.

“So, Emma Stone’s character, in Spain, they were really trying to make American comedy, so we were like, ‘OK, we can break in American comedy in Spain,’ which I guess doesn’t happen, or didn’t happen at that point.”
Hill went on: “So, they hired a very famous actress to be Emma’s voice – voice dubbing for Emma Stone’s character in Superbad, and then the poster was her.
“Not Emma, the famous actress in Spain, Photoshopped in. Not Emma Stone. Even though she was just a voice, and then between her legs were me Michael and Chris, like looking out drooling.”

Bursting into laughter, Hill added: “And it was called Super Horny. We were driving around Spain like, ‘what the f**k? This is so weird'.”
Both actors also spoke about what it was like being thrust into the spotlight when Superbad’s release rocketed them to stardom overnight.
Cera candidly shared: “If I think back to myself in my teenage years, it’s alarming, I have this footage of us from the Superbad press tour and even watching that and looking at myself when I was like 19, it’s really disturbing.”
He added: “I had this very sudden exposure to people knowing who I was, which made everything even more confusing just on a day-to-day, existing basis.

“I also feel like that time was about evolving and figuring out what I like, what I want, and what I gravitate towards.”
