Fans of Superman have praised the casting choice of David Corenswet after viewing a scene from one of his previous roles.
The actor has now been confirmed to play Superman, and fans online are already saying he's the perfect fit.
There's no doubt that it takes a very particular look to portray the Man of Steel.

Superman is the quintessential American hero, embodying the sense of optimism and commitment to justice that the US prides itself on.
Any actor taking on the role needs to be able to portray that sense of hope and power. And looking good in spandex also helps.
Brit Henry Cavill was the latest actor to portray the iconic superhero, first donning the cape and suit for 2013's Man of Steel.

It's fair to say that Cavill's performance won fans over, as he went on to play Superman in a succession of films in the DC Cinematic Universe.
In 2022, however, the Witcher star confirmed that he would not be reprising the role after a meeting with DC Studios.
This was after his cameo in Black Adam, which Dwayne Johnson said he'd 'fought hard' to make happen.
At the time, Cavill said the the news 'isn't the easiest', but wished the best for the DCU going forward, saying: "The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.ā

Now, eyes are on Corenswet - but it seems his casting has already received some praise.
A video of one of his earlier roles as Jack Castello in Ryan Murphy's Netflix miniseries, Hollywood, has already shown to fans that he has what it takes.
One fan said: "David surely easily can pull off that nerdy and clumsy journalist Clark Kent personified, and he's also looks like a guy who was born and raised in a farmland while having a voice of Superman from DCAU cartoon series."

"He looks, sounds, acts like Superman. Like he can inspire people to be good." someone else said.
Another wrote: "He's gonna kill it. I'm gonna miss my boy Henry though. I loved the more gritty superman he got."
And one viewer said they got 'heavy Christopher Reeves vibes' from Corenswet, especially from his voice.
Meanwhile, another person took to Twitter to praise the casting choice and share the clip, saying: "You can't tell me this guy isn't perfect casting for Clark Kent."

Pre-production on Superman: Legacy was already underway - even before the title role was cast.
In April, James Gunn took to Twitter to reveal that the film was beginning to come to fruition, writing: "Iām honored to be a part of the legacy.
"And what better day than #SupermanAnniversary Day to dive fully into early pre-production on #SupermanLegacy? Costumes, production design, and more now up and running.ā
