Sydney Sweeney has revealed that filming *that* infamous hot tub scene in the second season of Euphoria was just as gross to act as it was to watch.

For anyone in need of a quick recap, we’re referring to the moment in episode four when Sweeney’s character Cassie is drunkenly sitting in a hot tub with her pals and decides to add a whole load of vomit to the mix. Watch the scene below:

Sweeney has admitted the whole scene left her ‘really grossed out’ and explained that the fake puke was squirted out of her mouth by an ‘invisible tube’.

Speaking to Decider, the star explained: “During the hot tub scene, during the throwing up, I got really grossed out.”

She elaborated: “They had this invisible tube that looked like a horse bit and they put it in my mouth and I had to somehow hold it and make it look semi-normal and then throw up over everyone which was… it was so gross.”

Sweeney also shared that Euphoria director Sam Levinson wanted her character to be drinking a different bottle of booze in every shot, in a bid to emphasise just how wasted Cassie was.

“Every shot wanted her to be drinking a different bottle,” said Sweeney, adding: “So if you notice, every single shot she has a completely different bottle in her hands. By the end of that episode, I’m like, how many drinks is she in? She was gone.”

Sydney Sweeney plays sweet and popular Cassie Howard in Euphoria.

Despite all the fake barf and tears, Sweeney admitted she ultimately ‘loved’ shooting the scene because she and her co-stars were ‘all together’.

“A lot of times we don’t get to have many scenes where we have a bunch of girls together and we were literally in one room. So, it was chaotic but fun,” the star said.

Sweeney’s iconic portrayal of Cassie scored her an Emmy nomination this year, with the actor being up for the Best Supporting Actress gong alongside Patricia Arquette (Severance), Julia Garner (Ozark), Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game), Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), J. Smith-Cameron (Succession) and Sarah Snook (Succession).

Sweeney began her career in acting in 2009, at the tender age of 12, when she appeared as a cameo on NBC’s Heroes.

She would then go on to play the role of Emily in the horror film Spiders 3D before taking on roles in The Handmaid’s Tale and HBO’s Sharp Objects.
