The Idol viewers have been left in shock after hearing The Weeknd’s dialogue during a sex scene.
The Canadian pop star, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, plays an enigmatic club owner and cult leader named Tedros Tedros who enters the life of troubled pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp).

The controversial HBO series, which was co-created by The Weeknd, made headlines before it premiered earlier this month due to its graphic sex scenes and provocative content.
One particular scene in the show’s second episode, which aired on HBO on Sunday (June 11) ahead of its UK airing on Monday (June 12) has left viewers feeling a little embarrassed.
Tedros is seen fully-clothed while ordering Jocelyn, who is naked and wearing a blindfold, to fulfil his sexual fantasies as he watches her from afar.

At one point during their encounter he tells her to ‘f***in’ stretch that tiny, little p****'.
That’s probably enough to make even the ardent fans of the ‘Take My Breath’ singer slightly queasy at least.
Viewers naturally took to Twitter to share their immediate thoughts and fans are saying that they will never be able to look at The Weeknd the same way again.
“I will never see The Weeknd the same after this,” one watcher tweeted.

Another Twitter user complained: “He definitely gives me the ick after that episode.”
While one music fanatic, who possibly just listened to ‘Often’ by The Weeknd, tweeted: “He literally has songs with lyrics like this.”
Another fan of The Weeknd said that hearing his sex talk in songs is way different compared to hearing similar statements while playing Tedros. “It’s actually crazy how most of this man discography is sexual but with every line delivery with dialogue taken straight from his songs he has no sex appeal just ick after ick…”

Other viewers were left in a complete and utter state of shock by the scene, with one person responding with: “I busted laughing at this scene, wtf. Lol.”
Someone else wrote: “Sex appeal on negative I’m crying.”
Another Twitter user joked: “What type of Wattpad x AO3 dialogue is this??”
The Weekend previously opened up about just how tough it was balancing his singing career and his role as Tedros.

He even lost his voice during a ‘terrifying’ incident in September, as trying to balance everything took its toll on the 33-year-old.
It happened during a concert at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, as he told fans: “I don’t know what just happened… but I just lost my voice.”
He added: "This is killing me, I don’t want to stop the show but I can’t give you the concert I want to give you right now."
The Weeknd was able to continue filming the HBO show and is currently embarking on his After Hours Til Dawn Tour across Europe.
The Idol is available to watch on HBO and Sky Atlantic.
