People are flooding to social media in surprise after finding out who The Last of Us star Nico Parker's mum is.
Just three days after its release (Sunday, 15 January), The Last of Us - which is based on the 2013 video game - has already set a new record with its Rotten Tomatoes score.
As well as viewers having flooded to social media in joyful surprise over just how well the characters from the games have transitioned to television, people have also been taking to Twitter in shock after finding out who Nico Parker's mum is.

In the series - which follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) trying to navigate their way across a post-pandemic America after a world-wide outbreak of a fungal virus in 2003 turned people into zombie-like creatures.
Parker plays the role of Sarah Miller, Joel's daughter.
Without giving away too many spoilers, while the series also depicts the heart-wrenching drama which occurs between Sarah and Joel, viewers have been left questioning who Parker's real-life parents are.
And it turns out, Parker - who made her film debut in 2019's Dumbo as Milly Farrier - has some pretty famous parents.

Her parents are none other than screenwriter and director Ol Parker and Mission: Impossible 2 and Line of Duty star Thandie Newton.
Since discovering who Parker's mum is, viewers have spilled onto social media in shock.
One user said: "The kid in the Last of Us is Thandie Newton's daughter??!?! I swear I thought in my head that she could play a younger version of her LOL."

"I knew they looked alike! Me, 'Thandie Newton should play adult her' #lastofus," another wrote.
While a third commented: "The actress who played Sarah in The Last of Us is Thandie Newton’s daughter the resemblance is so mad."
A fourth resolved: "Not me, watching The Last of Us and saying, 'Wow. This chick looks like a young Thandie Newton' only to find out that Nico Parker is Thandie Newton’s daughter."
And someone else said: "Nico Parker is LITERALLY just Thandiwe Newton."

Parker's dad, Ol Parker, is a writer and director, best known for his work on 2018 musical film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
He also wrote The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which was released in 2011, as well as the sequel in 2015.
In light of the huge success of The Last of Us, Parker is certainly following in their footsteps.
