The first trailer for upcoming Netflix show Wednesday, a new Addams Family series, has just dropped and fans are incredibly excited.
Directed by Tim Burton, Wednesday is going to follow the adventures of the Addams Family daughter in a seemingly supernatural new school after getting expelled from a string of regular ones.
Netflix gave viewers a first look at the series earlier this month, releasing a teaser featuring Jenny Ortega in the titular role as she prepares her hair and disembodied hand Thing perches on her shoulder.

The new trailer appears to show Wednesday getting expelled from school (again, seemingly) after filling the swimming pool with piranhas in true Addams Family fashion.
Wednesday is then inducted into the Nevermore Academy where parents Gomez and Morticia first met.

This is all a prelude to what Wednesday calls 'a nightmare full of mystery, mayhem and murder', which are just a few of her favourite things.
Fans are already going wild for the first major trailer and it looks like Wednesday is everything Addams Family fans have been hoping for.
One said the trailer looks 'so damn good', while another said the upcoming series looked 'AMAZING'.

Another praised Jenna Ortega's performance from what we saw in the trailer, saying she 'looks like she's going to be an INCREDIBLE Wednesday'.
For so many fans this is the Addams Family show they've been waiting for, with some already proclaiming it the 'show of the year' and saying it looks 'sufficiently kooky'.
Someone else said Tim Burton's influence on the show meant 'you know it's gonna be amazing'.

Catherine Zeta-Jones will be playing Wednesday's mother Morticia, while Luiz Guzman will be taking on the role of Gomez.
Christina Ricci, who famously played Wednesday in popular 90s movies The Addams Family and Addams Family Values, will also be featured in the series.
Also starring in the show is Gwendoline Christie, who will play Principal Larissa Weems.
Described as a 'a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery', Wednesday will see the titular daughter of Gomez and Morticia learning new things and solving old mysteries, all while settling into a school that seems perfect for her.

Sadly, one thing the trailer didn't tell us was an exact release date for Wednesday, though it can't be far off as it promised the series would debut in Fall 2022.
That's got to be good news for fans as there shouldn't be all that much waiting before Wednesday hits our screens.
